As a charity, we receive no funding other than financial support from Strathclyde Fire and Rescue personnel and public donations. Without charitable contributions we cannot continue to provide current services and fund future initiatives.
Approx 90% of our donations are received through the generosity of serving employees of Strathclyde Fire and Rescue. Without that support, the Family Support Trust would not exist and a valuable support link to Strathclyde Fire and Rescue members and their families would be lost.
As a member of Strathclyde Fire & Rescue your assistance is invaluable. You can make a one off donation or provide us with much needed support, by contributing just £1.25 per week, from your pay, through our regular giving scheme.
Supporting us could not be simpler. Just print off and complete the attached pro-forma and send to the Payroll Section at SFR Headquarters. Donations to the Family Support Trust are identified as "SFR Family Support Trust" on your payslip. Also, by completing the Gift Aid section of the form, Family Support Trust can retrieve the tax on your donations from the Inland Revenue at the basic rate, up to the value of your annual tax contribution. This is at no extra cost to you, and means our Charity receives an extra 25-28% from your donation
Every penny we raise, stays in Strathclyde to assist Strathclyde Fire and Rescue personnel and their families.
Gift Aid Cash Boost
Family Support Trust recently received a fantastic cash boost, of £44,887.76, from HMRC Inland Revenue, for backdated Gift Aid monies, owed to our Charity.This was received through the Government’s tax relief scheme and came at no cost to anyone in SFR.
Trustees are delighted to receive the monies and thank all donors for their generous regular and one off contributions.
A reminder to those who have not yet “ticked” Gift Aid - please consider, it’s not too late to return outstanding declaration forms and the extra funds are a great bonus for all Charities, particularly in the current economic climate !
