Zumba Dance Event, Cowcaddens

A big thanks to Monique McCormick, Catering Assistant, who organised a Zumba extravaganza for her  female & male colleagues, at Cowcaddens HQ and  raised a terrific £226.36, for our Charity.

Munich Marathon

Congratulations and sincere  thanks to Julie Fitzpatrick, HRA "Super woman", who completed the Munich Marathon, in around 4 hours, with the fantastic achievement of being the 73rd lady to finish, in her group, in the prestigious Olympic Stadium. Julie raised over £300, for FST.

Forth& Clyde Union Canal Cycle

A very warm thanks to Group Commander Iain Goodlet and his daughter Kirsty, who got on their bikes to cycle the Forth & Clyde Canal, in just 1 day and raised £130 for Family Support Trust.

Great Scottish Run

Congratulations and a special thanks to Fire Cadet, Steven Morrison, who completed his first ever half  marathon, in the Great Scottish Run. Steven, who is new to running and the Fire Service, raised an excellent £207 on behalf of our Charity.

SFR Corporate Resources Quiz Night

Many thanks to all of the teams who took part in the Corporate Resources Quiz Night, held recently in Hamilton HQ, which raised £100 for Family Support Trust and £100 for a national charity.The SFR Graphics team beat off stiff competition to win the event, which was skilfully hosted by Quiz Master, Iain Shaw.

Colville Park Golf Event

Sincere thanks to Crew Commander, Jim Reynolds and his colleagues at Motherwell Fire Station & HQ, who raised a fantastic £1500 for FST, at their fundraising event at Colville Park Golf Club.Jim has recently become a Volunteer Rep, for Family Support Trust, covering the North Lanarkshire area. He is a keen fundraiser for local charities and this annual event raised funds for both Family Support Trust and St Andrew’s Hospice.

It’s a Knockout Family Fun Day

We would like to acknowledge the hard work and also warmly thank Community Safety staff and the event’s team, who organised SFR’s “It’s a Knockout” family fun day at Chatelherault Country Park, which  raised the superb sum of £2000, for FST.

Brunston Castle Golf Day

A  very special thanks to Retained Crew Commander, Robert McMillan and his team, who raised a grand total of £1020 for our Charity, at their recent fundraising golf event at Brunston Castle. Robert who works at Girvan Fire Station approached his other employer, William Grant & Sons, Distillers, who generously matched his team’s contribution of £510, doubling the funds raised, to benefit the work of the Trust.

Edinburgh Marathon

Congratualtions and thanks to SFR Fire Fighter, David Haggerty who raised £340, for FST, by running his first ever Edinburgh Marathon in the sweltering heat. Well done David!!

East Kilbride Annual Plant Sale

Sincere thanks to the crew at East Kilbride Fire Station, who donated a fantastic  £2,600, to FST, from their highly successful annual plant sale.  Their hard work is appreciated by our Charity and also the 12 other local Charities that they have supported from funds raised at the event.

Special thanks to the young people involved in  yipworld.com, Cumnock  who donated £25 to FST,  from creative  fundraising activities designed to help their local community.

OPS Support Centre, Johnstone

A big thanks to the IT Centre of Excellence team who donated £66, to our Charity,  from their Quiz, which both entertained and puzzled their colleagues and friends.  

RCVS/BVA- Riding Establishments Committee

FST was delighted to be nominated for a  donation of £100, from the REC, from a training course delivered at Westerwood Hotel, by Group Commander Edward Mullen.

The Partick Burns Club - Annual Supper 2010

FST was  pleased and privileged to have been selected by The Partick Burns Club, as one of their chosen charities. Members and Guests generously donated £728.95, from fundraising activity undertaken at the Annual Supper event.  

Strathclyde Fire and Rescue Service

Strathclyde Fire and Rescue donated £400, through innovative savings made by the Service - sending a festive e card instead of  traditional Christmas cards.

Newmilns Q16

The crew at Newmilns Q16 very kindly donated £100, from their Charity Car Wash event. The whole crew, family helpers and young local volunteers contributed lots of hard work and enjoyed a very successful Fun day.

Campbeltown Firemen's Club

FST was delighted to receive a cheque for £500, from the Campbeltown Club. Members worked hard to organise several fundraising events, which involved their local community.

SFR - Annual RDS Seminar 

Delegates and guests at the RDS Seminar  generously donated  a tremendous £841 to our Charity. This was accepted by FST Trustee, AC Paul Connelly.

Solo Cycling Challenge

Fire Fighter John McQuade donated £300 to our Charity - a terrific amount raised through his outstanding feat of cycling, solo and unsupported, 956 miles, from John O'Groats to Land Ends, during 2009.

The Rhuallan Probus Club

The Rhuallan Probus Club very kindly donated £30 to FST. Our  Charity values being  nominated for this support, by SFR Chief Officer, Mr Brian Sweeney, following his Key Speaker input, at the Club's recent meeting.
